Smoked Rainbow Trout Fillet with Extra Virgin Olive Oil

First off, I love the trout. I have only good things to say about the quality of the product itself. My complaint - the reason for 4 rather than 5 stars - is the size of the portion. It's just 60 grams of fish (a little over 2 oz.), yielding only 12 grams of protein. Most adults need at least 20 gram of protein per meal. So, OK, I could eat two tins at a sitting, but that feels weird. Why not offer a meal-sized tin of fish, like almost every other brand? (And NOT the "whole meal" tins, which I can't eat because they contain stevia... honestly, why would you put sweetener in with fish and vegetables?) So, Cole's please offer a 4 oz. (113 g) tin of trout, and same for salmon, too while you're at it.

This is an absolute protein staple for me that I recommend to all of my friends. Have yet to meet someone who isn't a big fan.

I opened the can and saw the fish skin and thought, hmm, that's interesting. I took my fork and pulled back the skin, and there was this beautiful looking trout meat resting in olive oil, calling to me to give it a try. I forked some onto my cracker and then went for it. I was pleasantly surprised at the mild taste of the trout. It wasn't super fishy like tuna and the olive oil was a nice add to the overall flavor. At 11.8 grams of protein, this is definitely something I can eat and will be buying again. This is a nice addition to my shelf stable protein pantry stock and I'm glad I gave a try.
